* Contemporary Music Composition

Published: Yes

Description

According to Griffiths (1996), the contemporary music refers to all post-1945 modern musical forms. In comparison to classical musical forms, the contemporary music has some distinctive characteristics like the elimination of that notion of tonality, the intense changes in the dynamics and the peculiar and unconventional use of musical instruments. The main goal of this use case is to propose a large scale unconventional tool for sound synthesis, 'the intangible musical instrument' based on real time recognition of musical gestures performed in space and on the identification of the emotional status of the performer. Thus, 'everyday gestures' performed in space or surface together with the emotional feedback of the performer, will continuously control the synthesis of music entities.
